Solicitor
Bevan joined Beale and Company in February 2010 from the Construction & Engineering Disputes team at Shadbolt LLP.
During his training contract Bevan completed a secondment to Atkins plc. Whilst there he advised on a range of contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering matters, including appointments, collateral warranties and novation agreements as well as general commercial issues.
Since qualification Bevan has specialised in Construction and Engineering dispute resolution. He has been involved in a range of disputes, including professional negligence, delay, extension of time, withholding of payment and wrongful termination. He has acted for consulting engineers, contractors and sub-contractors in adjudications, arbitrations, mediation and litigation.
Most recently Bevan has advised on several disputes in the transport sector, where a growing number of disputes have arisen under the NEC suite of contracts, and an increasing number of PFI/PPP disputes. Although Bevan specialises in construction and engineering law, he has acted in several commercial property disputes.
Bevan has also advised on international disputes, involving both DAB and ICC arbitration proceedings, arising from projects under the FIDIC forms of contract.
Bevan regularly writes for industry publications and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Kingston, Surrey.
