Royston Pendley is based in Dubai where he practices as Legal Consultant at Anjarwalla Collins & Haidermota (AC&H) providing construction-related legal services to clients operating in the Middle East, Africa, India and Pakistan. The firm has a close working relationship with Beale and Company Solicitors LLP and Royston is the partner heading this affiliation.
Prior to working in Dubai, Royston has been involved in a variety of high profile UK and international construction projects whilst working for construction specialists Beale and Company LLP and Shadbolt LLP, as well as the construction department of DAC Beachcroft LLP.
Royston is very experienced in most of the standard forms of construction contracts, including FIDIC, NEC, JCT, ICE, and IChemE.
He has advised on a spectrum of construction and engineering-related issues including pre-bid agreements, performance bonds, parent company guarantees, collateral warranties and sub-contract / supply agreements. As a lawyer, Royston has undertaken secondments with two international construction contractors where he advised on procurement issues, tender proposals and amendments to a range of stand form building contracts.
Royston also has extensive dispute resolution experience including advising on extensions of time, disruption, valuation / termination issues and defective design and workmanship.
Royston also acts for consultants and their professional indemnity insurers on construction-related disputes and his experience includes defects in foundations, structural steelwork, geotechnical matters and mechanical & electrical installations.
Royston is a visiting lecturer to Kingston University where he has lectured to students studying for the MSc in Construction Law. The lectures included "Introduction to Construction Law" and "Introduction to Adjudication".
